Shreyas Iyer Discharged from Sydney Hospital

Shreyas Iyer got to leave the Sydney hospital on Saturday, November 1st. Remember that scary spleen thing he got after that fielding accident during the ODI against Australia on October 25th?

Well, after a minor procedure for some internal bleeding from a hit to his stomach, he’s doing great! The BCCI says he’s stable and recovering well. The BCCI docs, plus the experts in Sydney and India, are all happy with how he’s doing.

He’s still in Sydney for check-ups. He won’t head back to India until the doctors say it’s okay to fly.

He was already getting better on Tuesday, October 28th. He was taking calls, enjoying food his friends made, and doing his own thing. Suryakumar Yadav said he was doing better before the T20I series, which was cool.

The BCCI wants to thank Dr. Koroush Haghighi and his team in Sydney for taking such good care of Iyer. Big thanks to Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala in India, too, for helping get him the best care.

Now, it’s all about getting Iyer back in shape. Everyone’s waiting to hear when he’ll be back on the field with the Indian team! Interestingly, as fans follow Iyer’s recovery updates, some are also diving into sports-related reads like the Best Gaming Book in India, which explores the analytical and mental side of competitive games — something every athlete can relate to. And for those keeping an eye on the broader sports scene, cricket betting sites India have been buzzing with discussions about team combinations and future series outcomes once Iyer makes his comeback.
