Arshdeep Singh, Washington star as India beat Australia to square series 1‑1

India bounced back in the third T20I against Australia. Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar helped them grab a five-wicket win, tying the five-match series 1-1. The changes to India’s lineup really paid off as they fought back at Bellerive Oval.

India chose to bowl first, and Arshdeep Singh got them going by taking out Travis Head and Josh Inglis early. He ended up with three wickets, and Varun Chakaravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah bowled well too. Australia got to 186 for 6, with Tim David (74 off 38) and Marcus Stoinis (64 off 39) hitting quick half-centuries. Australia’s middle order looked good for a bit, but those early wickets meant they didn’t get past 200.

When India batted, Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav started well, hitting boundaries. They lost Shubman Gill and Suryakumar in the middle, but Tilak Varma and Axar Patel kept the innings steady. In the final few overs, Washington Sundar, who came in instead of Kuldeep Yadav, went crazy with 49 not out off 23 balls. Jitesh Sharma also added a key 22 not out. They got India to 188 for 5 in 18.3 overs, winning with nine balls left.

This win showed how well-rounded and flexible India is. Arshdeep Singh stopped Australia early, and Washington closed it out. Now that the series is tied, both teams will be fired up for the fourth T20I, so it should be a great game.

Scores: Australia 186/6 (Tim David 74, Marcus Stoinis 64; Arshdeep Singh 3‑35, Varun Chakaravarthy 2‑33) lost to India 188/5 (Washington Sundar 49*, Tilak Varma 29; Nathan Ellis 3‑36) by five wickets.
